Lietz Mark on a type 2?

Hi! I've just joined the club of Curta owners with a type 2, #526163. Strange thing about it, however, is the presence of a Lietz log on both the machine bottom and the case.

Was this logo added by the seller / distributor? I see references to Lietz of San Francisco in a few places and am looking to get more information.

It's not unusual that a distributor put his label on a Curta / or Curta canister (or both).
Wide known is the French company INNOVA - they labeled every Curta on the bottom.



Lietz is a rarer example of this kind of labeling (As I know, Lietz was an American Company, San Francisco).
