Hello,

I saw this Curta on ebay sell for 2500.00 and was wondering if anyone here had any input on why the value was so high. Maybe it was just a fluke?

I own a Curta Type I that has a serial number very close to this one.
Mine is #21299.

The winning bid for the Curta you mention is unusual for similar Curtas on eBay. Curta prices do fluctuate a great deal depending on a variety of factors. In today's market, this sale is 25% higher than typical even for a pristine Type I with box and paperwork.

The overly enthusiatic bidding by two or three bidders seems a bit odd to me.
