I purchased this for resale around 2 months ago. The previous owner had it since 1973. Condition is fine. Can send or post pics.
I am based in Johannesburg and am an auctioneer specialising in household goods including antiques, art and collectables. This is the 2nd Curta I've handled.
Please note: It also has an unusual factory engraved inscription on it.
Am not sure of the protocol on this forum. If interested, please post a message here or email me.
Thx |

Interesting, and better and earlier than my earliest Type 2s - 406 was a repaired machine (looks like Frankenstein to the expert) I bought for the odd case, and 550 is marked up. Well done Murff. _________________ Cheers, Pete |

Yes - the Curta looks very nice now... after about four hours of cleaning. It's running like a charm and I also found some replacements for the o-ring and the gummi things...

Suttner's
After five years another Suttner's Curta has arrived... (And, after a long time, once again an eBay deal which I usually avoiding - but the price was OK)
It's an early Type I in a very nice condition and it came in a fitting cannister with old "CURTA" lettering and opens counterclockwise

If someone knows anything about "SOLE S. A. AGENTS - SUTTNER'S - P. O. BOX 6490 JOHANNESBURG" please post it here... (nothing found in the www) _________________ :: m u r f f

Beautiful early example, and interesting provenance, I only have one of the CCW cases even though I have a couple of early machines. Good for you! _________________ Cheers, Pete |

After (almost) five years since the last "Suttner's" here comes number three!
So it happened that three of these rare Curtas came together in my collection....
Still there is only little information about the company Suttner's Office Equipment in Johannesburg - maybe someone has this knowledge?
(and no, there is really nothing to buy here...)
